Linear is the logical safe path to winning

But it won’t get you exponential success

Linear = planning = step by step manner.

Four reasons you default to linear thinkings:

1. Societal conditioning: the “factory model" of life

- Education linear paths: school → college → job
- Corporate linear hierarchy: intern → manager → director
- Cultural narrative: study hard → stable job → retire at 65

2. Cognitive laziness: the brain’s shortcut

- Less mental effort: Linear (A → B → C) less energy
- Fear of ambiguity: linear thinking make you feel safe

3.  Cultural myth: "specialization = success" fallacy

- Society values specialization over multidisciplinary thinking.
- Fear of failure: Deviating from a linear path is “risky.”

4.  Social system design: profit + predication

- Institutions like linear system → easier to manage.
- Linear consumerism (buy → use → discard) fuels growth. Circular disrupt profit cycle.

My observation of linear in business, it feels efficient but it backfires:

Strategy barely deliver outcomes
Transformation projects broken
Overcoming challenges fail
Business stagnating
Lack of innovation
Plateauing skills

Linear is meant to simplify visuals of current status, not away of thinking.
