Learn from Lego's strategy
There is no such thing as “whats the strategy?”
You “must” discover what no one can tell you.
I'm sure you're loaded with strategy ideas and plans.
• You don’t ask, "What is the strategy to tackle this/that?"
• Nor should you accept a ready-made plan strategy
• Strategy is designed through a discovery process.
Let me illustrate what I just said:
Lego company. noted only 9% of their toy users were young girls.
(despite their marketing efforts)
They didn’t ask what is the strategy to compel them to buy.
They didn't find out the reason by asking and capturing answers only.
They observed how young girls play and behave with their toys.
They found that girls focused on interior layouts and structural details, prefer to build entire environments over single structures.
(This is called an insight that you derive)
Lego Friends was introduced and it became a hit.
Sales tripled from $300 million to $900 million.
My strategy LEGO game:
1. Discover which LEGO pieces you need
(based on goals, needs, and environment).
2. Design how they come together to enable outcomes.
Strategy isn't advice or consultancy—it’s a piece of work on your playing field.
➝ Get to the field.
